FAQ

Can I cancel my order?

We can cancel your order IF we receive your cancellation before we finalise it.

We finalise orders at 5am each business day.

So we need to receive any cancellation BEFORE this time.

PLEASE NOTE: Once we have completed your order (i.e. after 5am business days), we cannot cancel it

Do you accept international orders?

We ship across Australia and New Zealand only

How do I attach my Opening Fairy Door?

We recommend attaching your fairy door with blu-tac, so it can be easily moved without damage. (Blu-Tac is not included)

However if you prefer something more permanent, we recommend using Double Sided Tape or 3M double sided adhesive mounting pads. (these are not included)

How Do I Pay for My Order?

We offer 5 easy methods of payment: 

Credit Card

To pay with your Mastercard or Visa, select the “Credit Card” option at Checkout and then enter your card details.

We process credit card payments using “eWay” which offers the highest level of “SSL” encryption security technology available online.

You will know your order has been successfully placed when you receive an automated “Order Confirmation” email from us. If you don’t receive this email, your order either has not been received OR you have entered an incorrect email on your order. Please check with us to be sure.

Paypal

To pay with your Paypal account, select “Paypal” at Checkout.

You will be taken to the Paypal site, where you will confirm your payment and then be returned back to our website.

You will know your order has been successfully placed when you receive an automated “Order Confirmation” email from us. If you don’t receive this email, your order either has not been received OR you have entered an incorrect email on your order. Please check with us to be sure.

AfterPay

To pay with your Afterpay account, select “Afterpay” at Checkout. (Australia only)

You will be taken to the Afterpay website, where you will enter your details and then be returned back to our website

You will know your order has been successfully placed when you receive an automated “Order Confirmation” email from us. If you don’t receive this email, your order either has not been received OR you have entered an incorrect email on your order. Please check with us to be sure.

Our Digital Download range are not available on Afterpay

If you prefer, you can place your order over the phone and pay with your Credit Card. We accept Mastercard & Visa.

If we are unable to answer at the time you call, we are usually in our workshop, so please leave a message, we will always return your call.

Email Orders

You can also email your order to us at fairy@openingfairydoors.com.au

Please include a list of your Order items, your postal address & phone number. We will either email you a Paypal invoice or call you for Credit Card payment.

(Please DO NOT include any payment details in your email – as this is not secure. )

What age should my child be before they enjoy an Opening Fairy Door?

Our products contain small, movable parts, so it is important to consider the age of your child and their stage of development to determine if our products are suitable.

It is the responsibility of the parent / guardian / carer to gauge the suitability of our products for your intended recipient.

Our products are not toys. They require gentleness and cannot be handled roughly.

They are therefore NOT suitable for young children without adult supervision

What do I do if I have made a mistake with my order?

If you make a mistake with your order, we can correct it ONLY IF we receive your correction BEFORE 5am on any business day.

We finalise orders at 5am each business day, so we need to receive any corrections before then.

Sometimes we notice what appears to be a mistake, in which case, we will attempt to contact you for clarification. However, if we are unable to contact you, we will assume the order information is correct and will ship as instructed on your order.

What if I need a refund or to return an item?

If you receive a product that is damaged, not as described; or is incorrect, we ask that you please contact us as quickly as possible. 

Mum & I are very careful to double check every order before dispatch but on occasion we can make a mistake. We also understand that Australia post aren’t as gentle as we’d like them to be and sometimes damages occur in transit.

If a problem this does happen, we apologise and ask if you could please take a photo so we know what has happened and then either….

What is an Opening Fairy Door?

A Fairy Door is a tiny door that you put on a wall, shelf or cupboard, to create a doorway into a magical world of make-believe and fantasy – a doorway for fairies to enter.

An Opening Fairy Door is a fairy door that is able to open outwards even when placed on the wall, just like a real door should.

What is included with my Opening Fairy Door?

Each of our wooden, hand crafted Opening Fairy Doors includes:

  • 1 Opening Fairy Door
  • 1 removable background scene
  • 1 jar of fairy dust

Where do I put my Opening Fairy Door?

The most popular place to put your Opening Fairy Door is on a wall – normally just above the skirting board.

Other places include on a shelf, a dressing table, a bench or cupboard. A lot of our customers also place them in display or shadow boxes. Once your fairy door is attached, the fairies know, and they will visit!

Why Should I have a Fairy Door?

Fairy doors draw a child into a world of imagination and make-believe. They inspire a child’s sense of creativity, nurtures their imagination and creates special childhood memories.

They are also a wonderful way for parents to interact and engage by secretly leaving little notes, gifts and treats “from the fairies”… to keep the ‘magic’ alive. Which also in turn encourages positive behaviour and can help a child through difficult times.
