Elf on the Shelf has become a fun Christmas tradition in many households around the world. And thousands have even adopted a further tradition of his arrival through a fairy door.
What is Elf on the Shelf?
Elf on the Shelf is a Christmas tradition centered around little red Elves sent by Santa to homes on the first of December each year to spy on the family for that month and report behaviours back to Santa.
Each night, each Elf returns to Santa to give a report and then comes back to the family the next morning in a different spot, usually doing something mischievous.
His job is finished on Christmas Eve, when he returns to Santa. Only to return again to the family the next December.
As Elf on the Shelf reports back to Santa each night, kids love to maintain their best behaviour to be sure they are on Santa’s nice list!
The magic is centred around the fact that Elf doesn’t talk, he only listens. And he is not to be touched, or he will lose his magic.
The fun is centred around discovering where Elf has arrived each morning and in seeing what mischief he has gotten into.
Elf on the Shelf and a Fairy Door
Thousands of people around the world have extended this tradition to include a fairy door for Elf’s arrival on 1st December. Which we think is absolutely perfect!
He is the perfect size!
He is the perfect colour!
And his personality is a perfect match to arrive in such a magical way!
