This week we’d like to share how to make a Fairy Tyre Swing for your fairy garden or fairy door.
We love using items we find around the house to create cute little fairy accessories and when we can share these ideas with you, it’s even better. Plus, your fairy friends will LOVE their own Fairy Tyre Swing to play on in their garden.
Our Fairy Tyre Swing is made from the wheel of an old toy truck we found in the toy box.
We removed the rubber tyre part to make our Fairy Swing. If you don’t have an old toy truck, often discount stores like the Reject Shop, Kmart or $2 Stores have cheap too cars and trucks. The best size tyre is around 5cm diameter so you will need a larger size toy truck.
- a length of string
- 1 toy truck tyre (removed from the wheel)
Measure the string to the length that you need it and then double it, so it can loop around the tyre.
To connect the tyre to the string, you can either simply tie the string onto the tyre using a knot in one end, or what we found worked better is to lay the double length of string on the table and then pass both ends of the string through the middle of the tyre.
Then put the ends of the string through the loop.
And tighten the loop onto the tyre so it holds it.
You should then have 2 loose ends of string at the top with the fairy tyre dangling at the bottom.
Then just tie these ends to a branch in your fairy garden.
Or if you have an inside fairy door, take a small piece of branch inside and stick it into a small pot which is filled with dirt. Then tie your Fairy Tyre Swing onto one of the branches and put it outside your fairy door.
